International conference: "Codification of civil law in Asia: Achievements and Challenges"
Update day: 04-12-2022On December 3rd , the University of Law, Hue University in collaboration with the University of Law, Vietnam National University, Hanoi and ZhongNan University of Economics and Law, China held the international scientific conference "Codification of civil law in Asia: Achievements and challenges". The event was hybrid, both in person and online.
Giving speech at the Conference, the Rector of Hue University of Law, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Doan Duc Luong pointed out that "Codifying civil law in Asia: Achievements and challenges" is a follow-up from the international scientific conference "Anti-corruption in business: China and Vietnam’s legal framework and International experience” dated in December 2021.
Initiated by 5 lecturers from the University of Law, Hue University, the University of Law, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (the team who translated the 2020 Civil Code of China in 2021), with the agreement of the 3 institutions’s leaders, the topic and plan of this international conference were highly agreed by the involved parties. The event was attended both in person and online by a large number of scientists, lecturers, and professionals from China and Vietnam. 47 papers were submitted to the organizers in total, 36 of which were written by Vietnamese scholars, 9 by Chinese authors, and 2 by authors from other countries. These papers will be jointly edited and published by the parties into an international proceedings with the ISBN code.
On behalf of the University of Law, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, Assoc. Dr. Nguyen Thi Que Anh expressed that the conference will be an opportunity for experts, scientists, and managers to exchange, discuss, give their point of views, comments as well as share their own experiences regarding the Codification of Civil Law in Asia.
